Postman is an API development platform used by engineering teams to build and test APIs. Connect your Postman team to Oleria to bring team member access into your identity and access graph.

What Oleria discovers

User accounts and profile attributes synced from your Postman team directory. Oleria uses this data for dormant account detection and access reviews, refreshed on Oleria’s regular sync schedule.

Prerequisites

  • A Postman Enterprise plan. SCIM provisioning is available only on Enterprise.
  • Single sign-on (SSO) configured for your Postman team. Postman requires SSO before you can turn on SCIM.
  • The Postman Admin or Super Admin role.
  • Admin access on the Oleria platform to add a new integration.

Get your SCIM credentials from Postman

Enable SCIM provisioning in Postman

In Postman, select your profile in the header, then select the name of your organization or team. Select Authentication, turn on the SCIM Provisioning toggle, and select Turn On.

Generate a SCIM API key

Under SCIM Provisioning, select Generate SCIM API Key, enter a key name, and select Generate. Postman shows the key only once, so copy it before you select Done. To keep provisioning running if the admin who created the key leaves, create a key owned by a Postman service account instead.

Copy your SCIM Base URL and Authentication Token

You’ll paste these values into Oleria in the next section:
  • SCIM Base URL - https://api.getpostman.com/scim/v2. On the Postman EU Data Residency plan, use https://api.eu.postman.com/scim/v2.
  • Authentication Token - the SCIM API key you generated.

Connect Postman to Oleria

Open the integration

Go to your Oleria workspace, select Integrations, then select the Postman tile.

Complete the connection form

Fill in the connection form:

Save the integration

Select Connect to validate the credentials and save the integration.

Verify the integration

Confirm the new instance appears on the Connected tab of your Oleria Integrations page with a status of Healthy. Oleria syncs users from Postman on its regular sync schedule once the initial sync completes.
If you regenerate the SCIM API key in Postman, update the Authentication Token in Oleria by editing the integration.

Remediation actions

Oleria can also take these actions in Postman when the SCIM token can update users:
  • Enable or disable a user account
  • Create a new user
Oleria doesn’t check the token’s permissions until an action runs. If an action fails, confirm the token can update users in Postman.
