Bitwarden is a password manager platform for storing and sharing credentials securely. Connect your Bitwarden organization to Oleria to bring user and group access into your identity and access graph.

What Oleria discovers

  • User accounts and profile attributes synced from Bitwarden’s directory.
  • Groups and their memberships.
Oleria uses this data for dormant account detection and access reviews, refreshed on Oleria’s regular sync schedule.

Prerequisites

  • A Bitwarden Teams or Enterprise organization. SCIM integrations are available only on these plans.
  • Access to the Bitwarden Admin Console with permission to manage organization settings.
  • If your organization uses Bitwarden Directory Connector, turn it off before you turn on SCIM provisioning.
  • Admin access on the Oleria platform to add a new integration.

Enable SCIM provisioning in Bitwarden

In the Bitwarden Admin Console, go to Settings -> SCIM provisioning, select Enable SCIM, then select Save.

Copy your SCIM URL and SCIM API key

After you save, Bitwarden shows the values Oleria needs on the same page:
  • SCIM Base URL - the SCIM URL.
  • Authentication Token - the SCIM API key.
The Automatically send email invitations setting on the same page controls whether users that Oleria creates through remediation actions get an invitation right away.

Connect Bitwarden to Oleria

Open the integration

Go to your Oleria workspace, select Integrations, then select the Bitwarden tile.

Complete the connection form

Fill in the connection form:

Save the integration

Select Connect to validate the credentials and save the integration.

Verify the integration

Confirm the new instance appears on the Connected tab of your Oleria Integrations page with a status of Healthy. Oleria syncs users and groups from Bitwarden on its regular sync schedule once the initial sync completes.
If you generate a new SCIM API key in Bitwarden, update the Authentication Token in Oleria by editing the integration.

Remediation actions

Oleria can also take these actions in Bitwarden when the SCIM token can update users and groups:
  • Enable or disable a user account
  • Add or remove a user from a group
  • Create a new user or group
Oleria doesn’t check the token’s permissions until an action runs. If an action fails, confirm the token can update users and groups in Bitwarden.
