Twilio is a cloud communications platform for voice, messaging, and email. Connect your Twilio account to Oleria to bring user access into your identity and access graph.

What Oleria discovers

User accounts and profile attributes synced from Twilio’s account directory. Oleria uses this data for dormant account detection and access reviews, refreshed on Oleria’s regular sync schedule.

Prerequisites

  • Admin access in Twilio to create OAuth client credentials for the SCIM API.
  • Admin access on the Oleria platform to add a new integration.

Twilio credentials

Twilio’s SCIM API authenticates with OAuth 2.0, and its access tokens expire after one hour. Twilio doesn’t issue a static SCIM bearer token. For details, see Twilio’s SCIM documentation.
Oleria’s connection form currently accepts only a static SCIM bearer token, so you can’t connect Twilio from the form yet. To set up this integration, contact us at support@oleria.com.

Connect Twilio to Oleria

Open the integration

Go to your Oleria workspace, select Integrations, then select the Twilio tile.

Complete the connection form

Fill in the connection form:

Save the integration

Select Connect to validate the credentials and save the integration.

Verify the integration

Confirm the new instance appears on the Connected tab of your Oleria Integrations page with a status of Healthy. Oleria syncs users from Twilio on its regular sync schedule once the initial sync completes.
If you regenerate the SCIM token in Twilio, update the Authentication Token in Oleria by editing the integration.

Remediation actions

Oleria can also take these actions in Twilio when the SCIM token can update users:
  • Enable or disable a user account
  • Create a new user
Oleria doesn’t check the token’s permissions until an action runs. If an action fails, confirm the token can update users in Twilio.
