# ADP Workforce Now

> Connect ADP Workforce Now to Oleria to bring employees, departments, and reporting relationships into your identity and access graph as the authoritative worker record.

Connect ADP Workforce Now to Oleria to bring your workforce data into your identity security posture. Oleria reads employees, departments, and manager relationships from ADP and uses them as the authoritative worker record that IdP and SaaS access is reconciled against - so a leaver who still holds access somewhere else is visible. This page provides step-by-step guidance for connecting ADP Workforce Now to Oleria.

## What Oleria discovers

Once connected, Oleria continuously discovers and maps the following from ADP Workforce Now:

* **Employees and people** - the full worker population returned by the ADP Worker Management API on every sync.
* **Departments** - your ADP department catalog, with stable identifiers that survive a department rename.
* **Manager relationships** - the reporting line for each worker, used to build your organization hierarchy.
* **Department assignments** - which department each worker currently belongs to.

  ADP Workforce Now is a system of record for the worker, not for application access. It exposes no group, role, access-level, MFA, SSO, or audit log API. Because of this, Oleria does not model ADP workers as accounts and does not discover groups, roles, or activity from ADP - those come from your identity provider and SaaS integrations instead.

## Prerequisites

* Administrator permission on the Oleria workspace
* ADP API credentials (Client ID and Client Secret) issued for your organization - contact your ADP account team if you do not have these
* Your **Onboarding Template Code** from ADP WFN (**Setup** → **Template Management** → **Hire/Rehire**) - required to complete the connection; used when the Onboard Worker provisioning action runs
* Your **Payroll Group Code** from ADP WFN - required to complete the connection alongside the Onboarding Template Code

  ADP API credentials are issued through ADP's developer program and are scoped to your organization. If you need to request credentials or add API scopes, contact your ADP account representative or ADP Support.

## Connect ADP Workforce Now to Oleria

    Log in to your Oleria workspace and navigate to **Integrations** → **ADP Workforce Now** → **Connect**.

  <Step title="Complete the connection form">
    Fill in the connection form:

    | **Client ID**                | Required. The OAuth2 Client ID issued by ADP for your organization.                                                                                                  |

    | **Onboarding Template Code** | Required. The hire/rehire template code from ADP WFN (**Setup** → **Template Management** → **Hire/Rehire**). Used when the Onboard Worker provisioning action runs. |
    | **Payroll Group Code**       | Required. The payroll group code from ADP WFN.                                                                                                                       |

    Oleria validates the credentials, discovers your ADP workers, departments, and relationships, and begins the first sync.

## Verify the integration

Confirm ADP Workforce Now appears in your Oleria workspace's connected integrations. After the first sync completes, you can review the discovered employees, departments, and manager relationships in your Oleria workspace.

## Provisioning actions

Oleria supports one provisioning action for ADP Workforce Now.

| **Onboard Worker** | Submits a new hire record to ADP via the Applicant Onboard V2 API, pre-filling name and start date. The record is created in **In Progress** status - an HR practitioner completes the remaining required fields (email, tax, payroll, address) in the ADP WFN UI before the hire is finalized. |

<Note>
  Worker termination (offboarding) is not supported in this version of the integration. Oleria will add deprovisioning support when the platform gains an employee-scoped leaver action.
</Note>

## Known limitations

* **No activity:** ADP Workforce Now exposes no replayable audit log API. Oleria does not show activity for this integration.
* **No offboarding action:** Terminating a worker's work assignment in ADP is not yet supported as a remediation action.
* **No groups or roles:** ADP WFN has no group, role, or permission surface visible via the Worker Management API. Access governance for ADP users comes from your identity provider integration.
* **Departments on WFN Next Gen tenants:** ADP has marked the Department codelist API as unsupported on WFN Next Gen. If your tenant uses WFN Next Gen, department assignments may not be discovered.
