# Authentication methods

Oleria surfaces which multi-factor authentication (MFA) methods your users and administrators have registered. Use Account Utilization filters to identify accounts missing MFA or relying on weaker authentication methods, so you can prioritize remediation.

## Find users without MFA

<Steps>
  <Step title="Navigate to Account Utilization">
    Go to **Account Utilization** in the navigation.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Apply filters">
    Set **Account Type** to **User** and **MFA Enabled** to **False**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Review results">
    The filtered list shows all users and administrators without MFA registered.

## Find administrators without MFA

<Steps>
  <Step title="Navigate to Account Utilization">
    Go to **Account Utilization** in the navigation.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Apply filters">
    Set **Is Admin** to **True** and **MFA Enabled** to **False**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Review results">
    The filtered list shows all administrators without MFA registered.

## Find users with weak authentication methods

<Steps>
  <Step title="Navigate to Account Utilization">
    Go to **Account Utilization** in the navigation.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Filter by authentication method">
    Filter **Authentication methods** to **SMS** and **Email**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Review results">
    All users registered with SMS or email authentication are displayed.

  <Step title="Check individual authentication methods">
    Select a user and review the **Authentication methods** field in the side panel to see exactly which methods they have registered.

  The Microsoft M365 Business Standard license does not provide authentication method details. Supported licenses are M365 Business Premium, M365 E3, or M365 E5.
